Photographic Safari

Safari Overview

Designed for the discerning photographer seeking dramatic vistas and unique wildlife in Uganda's remote north, this 8-day safari focuses on Kidepo Valley National Park and Pian Upe Wildlife Reserve — the heart of the Karamoja Critical Landscape. A domestic flight maximises your time in the field. Golden light, unobstructed sightlines, 28 endemic mammal species, and a remarkable cultural encounter with the semi-nomadic Karimojong people make this one of Uganda's most compelling photographic itineraries.

Photography Tips

Kidepo's open, treeless Narus Valley allows shooting in any direction — maximize the 360° golden hour light. Cheetahs sit on termite mounds at dawn; position your vehicle for clean sightlines before sunrise. Karimojong portrait photography is intimate — use a 85–135 mm and work at eye level. Dust is extreme: bring two sealed camera bags and a Lens Pen.
