Terms and Conditions of Service
Please read these terms carefully before booking your safari with Snap Uganda Tours Ltd.
1. Introduction and Acceptance of Terms
These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern the relationship between Snap Uganda Tours Ltd (“The Company,” “We,” “Us,” or “Our”) and the client (“Client,” “You,” or “Your”), a company registered in Uganda.
They apply to all tour services, photographic safaris, birding tours, and ancillary services (including video production, wall décor, and photo restoration). By confirming a booking, paying a deposit, or utilizing any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Booking and Payment
A. Prices and Validity
- All prices are quoted in United States Dollars (USD) or local currency at the prevailing exchange rate.
- Payments made in local currency must cover any applicable exchange rate commissions.
- Prices are subject to change until the booking is confirmed and a deposit received.
B. Deposits and Confirmation
- A non-refundable deposit (typically 30% of the total tour price) is required to confirm your booking.
- Deposits secure high-demand activities such as Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits.
- The booking is considered confirmed only once we issue a written confirmation and receipt.
C. Final Payment
- The remaining balance is due 90 days prior to the tour start date.
- For bookings made within 90 days of departure, 100% payment is required immediately.
- Accepted payment methods: credit card or bank transfer.
3. Cancellation Policy
Cancellation by the Client
Refunds (excluding non-refundable deposits and permits):
- 91+ days: 100% refund
- 61–90 days: 75% refund
- 31–60 days: 50% refund
- 0–30 days: 0% refund
Cancellation by The Company
We reserve the right to cancel tours due to unforeseen circumstances. We will offer an alternative tour of comparable value or a full refund excluding non-recoverable third-party costs.
4. Drone Policy & Primate Tracking
Drones in Uganda:
Drones may only be used with prior formal authorization from UCAA, CDF, and UWA. Application must be made at least 3 months in advance.
Age Limits:
- Gorilla & Chimpanzee Tracking: 15 years minimum.
- Certain sites (e.g., Kalinzu): 12 years (case by case).
5. Liability and Insurance
Mandatory Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, evacuation, baggage loss, and cancellation is mandatory for all clients.
Snap Uganda Tours acts as an agent for third-party providers and is not responsible for damages beyond our control, including natural disasters or civil unrest.
