Safari Overview

This carefully paced 3-day gorilla photography safari gives you Uganda's single most powerful wildlife experience — mountain gorilla trekking at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest — combined with a village walk through forest-edge communities and the fascinating Uganda Equator crossing. Photography Tips

Gorilla photography is one of the most technically demanding in wildlife. Use ISO 3200–12800 in the dense forest — f/4 minimum aperture, 1/250 s minimum shutter to freeze movement. A 70–200 mm f/2.8 is the ideal single lens. Pre-set your camera before entering the forest as there is no time to adjust when gorillas appear. Shoot in RAW always.
