For a 25-day expedition, pack for every habitat: 14–24 mm for Murchison landscapes, 70–200 mm f/2.8 for wildlife, 100–400 mm or 200–600 mm for birds. Day 1 — Arrival & Entebbe Botanical Gardens
Background: Entebbe Botanical Gardens, located on Lake Victoria’s northern shores, host over 200 bird species across woodlands, lakeshore habitats, and landscaped gardens. An excellent introduction to Uganda’s lowland birdlife.

Day 4 — Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary: Morning Canoe for Shoebill & Afternoon Birding
