Safari Overview
This 5-day photographic journey distils the very essence of Uganda — from the mist-
coated slopes of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, where mountain gorillas
share their ancient habitat, to the vibrant hills of Kampala where
mosques, royal tombs, and cathedrals crown the city skyline. En route, the
Batwa Pygmy cultural experience and a stop at the
Uganda Equator add documentary and cultural depth to a trip that
covers more photographic ground per day than almost any safari in Uganda.

Detailed Itinerary
1Day
1 — Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Transfer from Entebbe Airport and drive south-west through
Uganda's scenic highlands to Bwindi (~8 hours). Evening arrival at your forest lodge
— first views of the misty ridgelines of the impenetrable forest are themselves
extraordinary photography subjects. Meals: D included.
2Day
2 — Mountain Gorilla Trekking at Bwindi
07:00 AM — Trek Briefing &
Departure
Morning briefing before entering the UNESCO World Heritage
forest with trained rangers and trackers.
The gorilla trek at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is arguably Africa's
most powerful wildlife photography experience. Once your habituated gorilla family
is located, you spend 1 permitted hour in their presence —
photographing silverbacks, mothers with infants, juveniles playing, and entire
families navigating the ancient forest. The emotional weight of these encounters is
unlike anything else in photography.
Photo Tip — Bwindi Gorillas
Forest light is challenging. Set ISO 1600–3200,
f/2.8, and let the camera's AF system track the subject. A 70–200mm is ideal.
Capture the silverback's authority — low angle looking up shows the forest scale
behind them magnificently.
Afternoon afternoon hike on forest trails.
Meals: B, L, D included.
3Day
3 — Batwa Cultural Experience & Drive North
Morning Batwa cultural village
experience. This extraordinary people, once forest-dwellers before the
national park's creation, offer a window into an ancient way of life through
fire-lighting, hunting, herbal gathering, and dance. The expressive faces and
vibrant colours of Batwa ceremony create powerful portrait photography work.
Drive north through Uganda's lake district and rolling tea
slopes. Overnight in Kabale or en route. Meals: B, L, D included.
4Day
4 — Equator Stop & Approach to Kampala
Drive towards Kampala with a stop at the Uganda
Equator (0°00'00") — stand simultaneously in the northern and southern
hemispheres. The equator monument, Coriolis water demonstrations, and the dramatic
geography make this an iconic landmark photography stop.
Continue to Kampala, arriving for an evening check-in and
first impressions of Uganda's vibrant capital. Meals: B, L, D
included.
5Day
5 — Kampala Heritage Photography Tour
Full city photography day in Kampala: Gaddafi
National Mosque (panoramic 360° views from the minaret), Kasubi
Tombs (UNESCO royal burial grounds), Rubaga Cathedral,
Bahá'í Temple, and vibrant local markets. Transfer to airport or
hotel for departure.
